Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your position as Group Head of Product at Rakkar Digital?
Of course, my name is Minh Tran, and I am the Group Head of Product at Rakkar Digital, Asia’s leading qualified digital asset custodian for enterprises and institutions. I embarked on my journey in product management quite a long time ago, with a background deeply rooted in product development in finance and technology industries. In my role, I am responsible for product vision, strategy and execution, leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital asset custody solutions.

We believe in a thorough understanding of our customers' needs, pain points, and aspirations through regular user feedback and market research. Our goal is to provide solutions that delight and earn the trust of our customers, while pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
What challenges have you faced in your role as Group Head of Product Officer, and how did you overcome them?
In my role, I've encountered various challenges, and one of the most significant challenges has been navigating a delicate balance between competing priorities and managing resources effectively. The fast-paced nature of the digital asset and blockchain industry that we are in often presents us with an abundance of ideas and potential projects to pursue, yet our resources – time, budget, and manpower – are finite. To tackle this challenge, I implemented a strategic approach centered around a robust product roadmap and prioritization process. This involved close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, security, compliance, and operation to gain a comprehensive understanding of feature's impact, feasibility, and alignment with our long-term vision. We utilized data-driven insights and customer feedback to make informed decisions about which features would have the most significant impact on our users and business objectives. Moreover, by fostering a culture of collaboration and collective ownership, we were able to align on our priorities and focus on product offerings with the highest potential return on investment. This collaborative approach not only enhanced team cohesion but also allowed us to leverage the diverse skills and perspectives within our team to drive innovation and problem-solving.
While challenges in product management are inevitable, I am proud of the strides we've made in overcoming them at Rakkar Digital.
How do you foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within your team?
Within our team at Rakkar Digital, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development is fundamental to our success. We believe that investing in our team members' growth not only enhances their individual capabilities but also elevates our collective performance. Regular knowledge-sharing sessions, internal workshops, and cross-functional exposure encourage collaboration and a thirst for knowledge. Additionally, we embrace innovation challenges as avenues for experimentation and creative problem-solving, further enhancing our team's ability to adapt and innovate. This year we plan to start our mentorship program to further nurtures talent by facilitating the exchange of experiences and insights. Throughout this journey, we emphasize the importance of continuous feedback and performance evaluation, reinforcing a culture of improvement and learning from both successes and challenges. By staying committed to continuous learning, we ensure that our team remains agile, adaptable, and at the forefront of the industry.
What motivates you the most in your role as the Group Head of Product at Rakkar Digital, and what do you hope to achieve in the coming years?
My greatest motivation stems from the opportunity to create products that have a meaningful impact on people's lives. Witnessing how our products can solve real-world problems, bring value to our customers and enrich their experiences is incredibly gratifying and serves as a constant source of inspiration for both myself and our entire team.
Looking ahead, I aspire by the ambition to contribute significantly to the growth of the digital asset ecosystem through the development of robust custodial infrastructure. In the coming years, I aim to strengthen our customer-centric approach further. I want to deepen our understanding of our users' needs and aspirations, ensuring that our products remain at the forefront of addressing their requirements. I also envision cultivating a diverse and inclusive team that thrives on collaboration. By celebrating diverse perspectives, we can drive creativity and innovation, leading to products that cater to a broader range of users and markets.
What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career in product development?
To aspiring individuals interested in a career in product development, I would advise them to be curious and empathetic, understand the business landscape, embrace cross-functional collaboration, stay agile and iterative, invest in continuous learning, learn from failures, build a portfolio of projects, and seek mentors.
